Airline Pilot Cadet Program

Overview

This is an EASA approved full-time course which guides the new pilot with zero or small flying experience through a structured program to an Airline Transport Pilot License with a full Type Rating course based to trainee needs (A320,B737, ATR42/72 , in approximately 36 months, making him/her eligible to work as first officer with an Airline. The program gives the opportunity to the trainee to become a flight Instructor and being employed by our company to achieve a minimum of 300 Hrs. After graduation, the student will hold an EASA Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Multi-Engine (ME) and Instrument Rating (IR), Flight Instructors License (FI) and a Type Rating on A320 or B737 or ATR42/72. The student would also have attended Advanced Multi Crew Cooperation (AMCC) Course, Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) and Performance-based Navigation PBN training.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age of 17 years old
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Sufficient Knowledge of English*
  • Ability to pass Aviation Medical Class 1 Exams**

*Aviation English Language Proficiency (ELP) is arranged by Skies Aviation Academy during the student’s training period.

**Aviation Medical Examination is an one-day process and can be completed at our base with EASA aviation medical doctor.

After graduation, the student will obtain a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating (ME/IR), a Flight Instructor (FI) rating, and a Type Rating, with additional endorsements in Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC), Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), and Performance-Based Navigation (PBN).

Course Overview

◦ The EASA Full Airline Pilot cadet program is the more efficient way to  equip cadets with the skills and knowledge to become airline first officers and eventually advance to more senior roles.

◦ The Theoretical part is taught in our modern facilities which are based in Peraia, a coastal area near Thessaloniki city center and 10 minutes away from Thessaloniki International Airport.

◦ Our ALX Alsim Simulator FNPTII is also located there. Flying part is completed in Alexandroupolis International Airport (LGAL) which was carefully chosen after a thorough research. The most important advantage is that it presents VFR weather 330 days per year which allows our students to progress with their training based on continuity.

◦ The Type Rating course takes place both in our ground facilities (Theoretical part) and in various simulator centers such as Athens, Istanbul, Sofia (Simulator part).
